VERY LATE Nikon F # 7451261
Many Nikon books give 7451052 as the serial number of the last F. Yet this is # 7451261, complete with wear patterns matching the rest of the body. While much later numbers occasionally show up, they are the obvious result of replacement spare parts. It would seem there is a very good chance Nikon F production continued a bit past the last official serial numbers.
