Leica M Rangefinder Collectible Investment Guide

Rules of the Collectible Leica M Game:  Rare standard production M’s usually have a much greater appreciation potential than commemorative cameras.  The best examples of high priced production cameras include the black paint M3, M2, the M4.    The general exceptions to this rule are unpopular production cameras (like the MD and MDA), and very well done photography related commemoratives like the M6J, LHSA MP, and LHSA M6TTL.

The opinions expressed here are mine.  Different people will certainly have different opinions.  This Leica M Investment Guide is written to introduce Leica newbies to the Leica M collectible world -- hopefully helping them to avoid costly mistakes on rare but not so collectibles.    Rare does not always translate to a good investment.  Plentiful production doesn't always mean low investment value.
