Epson R-D1: Using a Visoflex

A Leica Visoflex II or III will fit on and work with the RD-1, turning it into an SLR. The Visoflex release arm does not extend over the RD-1 shutter release, but fitting a ‘soft release’ solves this problem.

A viewfinder mask is needed to account for the R-D1’s 1.53 crop factor (Figure 1).

The chimney finder must be used as there is not enough clearance for the right-angle finder.
